Workshop and typeface design with fifth class students from John Scottus Primary School as part of the Royal Hibernian Academy's Art in Schools program. The two typefaces are available for free to download.
With the RHA, I developed a series of educational workshops for children exploring design thinking, desktop publishing and collaborative design. Each student contributed an upper and lowercase letter, along with symbols and numbers.
I edited the individual letters and fixed them up before rendering the typefaces into OTF and TFF files. We then were able to install them on the school computers so that the students could continue to use their own typeface for class projects.

As part of the workshops, we discussed what Open Source meant and if the students wanted to make the typeface usable for everyone. Luckily, they were very proud of it and happy to let the world use it. The glyph version works on both mac and pc, while the colour bitmap is a new format currently only compatible with mac.
